Our Georgia client was experiencing a physician shortage due to unprecedented growth and an unusually high percentage of resignations as the resident population transitioned to fellowship opportunities outside the area.
D&Y’s dedicated account management team met with our client’s recruiting and clinical leadership to analyze the situation. We reviewed hospital volume, the existing permanent physician pool and the total number of shifts per month that required coverage. We ultimately determined that the program would need at least 15 more providers to maintain uninterrupted coverage.
The D&Y team met with the medical staff office to discuss the facility’s credentialing requirements and processes to minimize delays. Both the client and D&Y agreed that it would be beneficial to present potential candidates with the client’s pre-app already completed. This alone would reduce processing time by 7-10 days.
D&Y developed a customized solution to evaluate candidates, delivering an efficient process through the medical staff office. This ensured physicians met target start dates and continuity of patient care for our client was preserved.
This tailored solution generated results that exceeded our client’s expectations. Within one week, 18 candidates were presented and 12 were hired. The remaining candidates were qualified and hired within two weeks.
